IRS rules provide that a donation given for the purpose of paying a specific, named student's tuition is NOT tax-deductible to the donor. (You may of course donate for the purpose of paying someone's tuition, but we cannot issue a tax receipt for that.)

If you make a gift to the Scholarship Fund and wish to recommend that your donation be used to benefit a specific student, or a type of classification of students, it is our understanding that you may make such a recommendation and preserve tax-deductibility for the donation provided you understand that the administration of the MTB Scholarship Fund, the decisions regarding scholarship awards, and the use of the funds donated to the Scholarship Fund, are in the control of Musiktheater Bavaria. Also, please understand that a charitable gift cannot be refunded.

Any recommendation regarding the use of your gift for a scholarship for a specific student or type of student should be stated in an explanatory note sent with your donation (if mailed). If you type the name of a specific student in the box below the online donation purpose pull-down menu, we will understand that your intention is to make a tax-deductible donation to the scholarship fund with a recommendation that your donation be used to help that student.

If you instead wish to simply make an online payment towards a student’s tuition (not tax deductible), please click on the “Make Student Payments” button in the blue area at the bottom of any website page.
